This is a great coffee from a well know cooperative – Cenfrocafe in the Jaen/San Ignacio area of northern Peru.
Roasted darker for lovers of that robust flavor.
Cenfrocafe is a cooperative of over 1,900 farmers. They have a state of the art quality control testing lab, and most importantly pay a premium price to the growers which is vital in this time of low commodity coffee prices.
Chasqui us consistently a popular Peruvian coffee. An excellent bright acidity with hints of oranges, herbs, and distinct nuttiness make this coffee one of our favorites.
This coffee uses a washed process, is then carefully fermented & sun dried until humidity levels are optimum for high grade specialty coffee. Cenfrocafe maintains an excellent laboratory where every lot is sampled prior to shipping.
Cupping Notes: Bright acidity, sweet, hints of herbs, honey, citrus, lemon & a nutty aftertaste, light body.
Please note that with all dark roasts, most of the sugars have caramelized, and you get more of the “dark roast” flavor. If you prefer “point of origin” flavors, please choose the medium roast option. Thanks!
