Peru Wins “Best Culinary Destination in the World” 7 years in a Row

Peru has recently won once again the award for Best Culinary Destination at the international gala of the 25th edition of the World Travel Awards, for the seventh consecutive year.

Not a surprise. The quality of food in Peru is oftentimes just plain amazing. Fresh and tasty fruits and vegetables, and naturally raised meats raise the bar for everyone…Congrats Peru!

Chelsea Market of New York is opening its doors to Peruvian flavors and fashion.

Peru Show is hosting seven days of Peruvian fashion, cuisine and cocktails in Chelsea Market, New York, from July 27 until Aug. 2. Chelsea Market is an enclosed urban food market, located in the Meatpacking district of Manhattan, New York. And its about to be transformed into a haven for fanatics of everything that is Peruvian.

The Joy of Heirloom Seeds

 

There is nothing more fun & heartwarming (and bone warming too) this cold time of year than planting what will become the year’s garden harvest.

I’ve mentioned our favorite seed company – Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds before (see Peruvian Heirloom Seeds Arrive in the US)

We’ve used their seeds (and seed saved from these rare varieties,) for many years now. This year we decided to go all out and replenish what has been an aging supply of seeds. We purchased their Large Southern seed collection of 50 packs with over 30 varieties, and here’s what we have:
