Peruvian Sol Reaches S./3 vs $1 USD

Today, the Peruvian Sol fell to S./3 to the US dollar at least for bank customers. In what has been an almost daily event, the Central Bank has been selling dollars to stop the fall of the Sol.

The price of the dollar is appreciating in the foreign exchange market and your (the) quote already reaches the S/.3,00 on the banks of the city since this morning. On the other hand, the Bolsa Valores de Lima (BVL) (Lima Stock Exchange) record positive indices at the opening of business.

100,000 Medical Tourists in a Month

Here in the US, it’s not uncommon to hear of friends or neighbors who
travel to Mexico for dental work because of the good care, but more importantly
the lower cost & cash payment vs fighting with insurance companies.

It appears that we’re not the only ones to see a difference in costs between
our country & a neighbor. Chileans are traveling to Peru for medical care, and
in spite of being charged a higher rate because of being foreigners, it’s still
less than the cost in Chile.
